Very Helpful Dissertation on Student Motivation By Relatively Rebecca As an English grad and new teacher in the beginning of my career, I found Dr. Skollingsberg's dissertation on extrinsic and intrinsic motivation among students incredibly valuable, especially in my line of work. I have studied other dissertations and theses during my educational career, but this one stands out as being more useful than dull like many others. The topic and study of extrinsic and intrinsic motivation among gifted and learning disabled students in middle and high school is of special interest to me and I discovered many new ways of looking at student motivation in order to develop my classroom management skills, so that is very much appreciated. What's more is that Dr. Skollingsberg's information is not only detailed and organized, but easy to understand. I didn't have to hunt for his information, purpose, or findings, so I was able to actually enjoy the work.Much appreciated for my own academic development and understanding of students.
