About the Author Anis Mojgani is a multiple TED conference speaker and former resident of the Oregon Literary Arts Writer’s-In-The-Schools program. Anis has performed at hundreds of universities, festivals, and venues around the globe. His work has appeared on HBO, NPR, and such journals as Rattle, Thrush, and Forklift Ohio. He studied art at SCAD in Savannah. He is a touring member of To Write Love on Her Arms and lives in Austin, Texas.

Anis Mojgani's words heal me By Deanokat There are a very select group of artists whose works have had an incredibly positive effect on me and my life, helping me navigate my way through some very tumultuous times. One of those artists is Anis Mojgani.Mojgani is a poet who has moved me and helped me in ways I can't explain. His words and attitude on life speak to me like they are coming from some higher place. His words heal me. I first became aware of his poetry when I saw a video of him performing his poem "Shake the Dust." It was breathtaking. I watched that performance over and over again. My mind was blown.I then started watching every performance of Anis's that I could find online. I bought his books from Amazon. I started reading his blog. And I went and saw him perform his poetry live.I am convinced that Anis Mojgani is a gift from above.The Pocketknife Bible is Mojgani's latest book, and like its predecessors--Over the Anvil We Stretch, The Feather Room, and Songs From Under the River: A collection of early and new work--it is full of music for your eyes. In fact, The Pocketknife Bible is an even more amazing visual experience than his earlier works, because it not only contains Mojgani's poems, but his beautiful artwork as well. The result is truly awe-inspiring.I absolutely love reading stuff like this:"When I hear the trains at night moving outside my window in the near distance I feel how look at at the stars makes me feel. Like I am maybe made of a song that only just then found a mouth to move out of."If you like poetry at all--or even if you don't--I highly recommend that you buy and read The Pocketknife Bible. And all of Anis Mojgani's other books, too. There's no doubt that his words have made a difference in my life. Maybe they'll make a difference in yours, too.

Absolutely worth owning in print By AOKC I'm a kindle owner and rarely buy print books anymore but am thrilled I did for this beautiful new book from Anis Mojgani. The drawings are stunning art that add so much dimension to his wonderful lyrical prose. This one will be on my coffee table for a long time.
